Toyota’s F 'Ciel' Vitz, along with 15 other car models made by different manufacturers, also incorporate variations of the UV Verre Premium screen technology which consists of existing UV blocking tempered glass along with a high-performance UV absorbing layer.
The UV Verre Premium Cool as fitted by Toyota in the F ‘Ciel’ Vitz for example, has another layer that absorbs IR light and apparently makes the glass stronger, so that it doesn’t get scratched when car windows are opened or closed.
And although UV protective windscreens and car windows may appear to be a car sales gimmick, sun-blocking car glass protects against road glare and actually helps with fuel economy as it reduces motorists reliance on air conditioning to control the temperature inside their vehicles because certain types have been shown to keep both cars and motorists 2ºC cooler than others.
That’s why there are already many cars on the road in Britain made by BMW, Citroen, Ford, Fiat, Vauxhall, Renault, Peugeot and Mercedes that have manufacturer fitted athermic windscreens which filter UV rays to varying degrees. However many of these are known to interfere with GPS devices and some of our customers opt to completely replace them because of this.
Needless to say, If you have a chipped, cracked or smashed athermic windscreen, or any other for repair or replacement and you live in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester or anywhere within the East Midlands, why not call us on 0800 9800 646 for a free quote?
